The thief hadn't gotten away. Holes in their chest and a plethora of gunshot wounds from plasma pistols denied them that right. After all their efforts to break into the vault, after all the pain and blood shed just to try to escape, on their dying breath they could only manage this much. Falling to the floor dead, they merely rolled the Sphere through the teleportal before their life expired. They may not have succeeded in their plot, but now the sphere was lose.

And soon the Primal Incubator would have a new race to Breed.
