Spam Bot Notification Thread

Want to talk about the site itself -- problems, technical issues, ideas, etc.? Here's the place to do it!

First odd, do you have any posts that are spam? That will help deal with it.

And I'm sorry that the interactive story site isn't quite all it should be. Web tech is really not me field (which I think should be obvious at this point) so I'm struggling to try and add some useful features. One thing I'm going to see about doing is finding a way to throttle posting a bit, though not sure how much that will help fix the problem.

User MichaelStaic is a bot.

Their off topic messages are word for word copies of forum posts found elsewhere on the internet.

Because I was quick to delete the linked post so the link ended up going to the top of the thread. Thanks for the question though, perfectly reasonable one to ask.

The posts by botcomics probably should go into Sales Floor and are a little over the top. If they're here just to advertise ...

Agreed. I at first thought he was just a lousy writer, but after reading his short-yet-rambling posts - capped off with a single nonsense option - it's pretty clear he's just another (or perhaps the same?) Troll out to jerk everyone around. Now, I'm going to pray that he dies of syphilis, but it's best not to assume that will happen anytime soon. Best to simply ban him. Is there no way to delete these spam posts?
