It's been about 4 weeks since the last installment. I think a number of us have invested both time and emotional currency in this story. red_loves6, as I and others have said many times, we are waiting anxiously for you to continue this superb, powerful story. That said, if you've lost interest, simply tell us that, and at least I, and some of us, will move on. This has been going on (aka holding us hostage) for a year, and, thanks to your efforts, it's become a significant work - perhaps among the most extensive on this site. But there was a 5 - 6 month hiatus after an installment in May. That's fine. But if you are only going to toss these stories out every 3 - 6 months, just tell us that. If you've lost your interest, and wish we would leave you alone, tell us that too.

An author has some rights and powers. Among those is the right to lose interest, or be so occupied with the "real world," that her or his work is on the distant, back burner. Readers have few rights. But courtesys should be paid to them, to let them know where an author stands in regards to an incomplete, published work.

I'm relatively young, single with plenty of disposable income, and I have no budget regarding what I read or choose to read. I'm a fan and a reader of both published (i.e., paid for) and freely-offered work in this genre. The reason I read freely-offered work is because it can, often, be unique. Your work is unique. As a reader, I only want to know if you, the writer, are still engaged or not. I've encountered many who were not. Fine. But tell me that. It's a small courtesy.
